The do NOT register births or deaths, they are a Probate Court. The office typically covers Salford, Stockport, Cheadle and Gatley. As well as Denton, Hyde, Audenshaw, Ashton-under-Lyme. Falsworth, Royton and Rochdale would also typically look to the Manchester Registry. Prestwich, Middleton Bury and the better known Swinton and Worsley would generally also use the Manchester Probate Office.

Manchester Probate Registry opening hours 9.30 am to 4.00 pm.
The court waiting area is open to court users at least 30 minutes before the first hearing. Please arrive in sufficient time to allow any security checks to be carried out.
